It started with five people and a Slack channel.

In 2022, when my first company — GROW AI — was five people, we made a channel for shoutouts.

It wasn’t a strategy. It was just how we said thank you. Someone did great work, and we said so where everyone could see it — right away, not at the end of the quarter.

The habit stuck, and it helped us grow. The company reached 40 people and 8 figures, and I kept every top performer. Along the way I learned something:

So we turned the habit into a product.

Culture Engine is that channel, grown up. It lives inside Slack — not another tab, not another login.

• Coins turn into gift cards, prepaid cards, and donations.
• Nudges, birthdays, work anniversaries — all automatic.
• No leaderboards. No contests.

We still use it every week — we built it for ourselves first. Now our mission is to get Culture Engine into the hands of every team on Slack and Microsoft Teams.
